Active Directory, Group Policy and Windows Server Management Fundamentals

4 Days

Get up to speed quickly on the basics of day-to-day management of a Windows server network. You will learn the basic skills needed to manage users, servers and security in an Active Directory environment.

The labs for this course are designed to mirror the mixed environments that are prevalent today, including both Windows Server 2012 R2 and Windows Server 2016 as well as Windows 8.1 and Windows 10.

In this 4 day, hands-on training, you will:

Set up and configure new and existing users

Provide users with consistent and secure environments using Group Policy

Configure secure access to network resources, such as files, folders and printers

Learn the basics of server management, including:

o   Different roles that servers host in a typical environment

o   Server management tools, including Powershell

o   The importance of keeping servers patched and strategies for patching them

o   Implementing strong server security using Group Policy

o   Monitoring and tuning server performance

o   How server virtualization works
